Clinical Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Clinical Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of clinical work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested..., why..., well, muscles love water!
Here are some areas many folks tend to have focused work:
Neck/Shoulders/Chest
Lower Back/Glutes/Hambstrings
Legs/Glutes/Hips
Lower Legs/Feet
Arms/Shoulders
and so on.
(Sessions are available for Couples, Friends, BFF's etc.)
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
"Massaging the feet can alleviate anxiety and bring about a deep state of relaxation. One important point that is situated on both feet is the solar plexus reflex. The solar plexus is sort of a little warehouse where all your stress is stored. When the solar plexus point is pressed on, stress is released and the body is renewed."
"The blood that circulates through the body is responsible for transporting oxygen and nutrition to the body’s cells. The blood also cleanses waste and toxins from the body. Because blood flow becomes limited when stress is present, foot massage can be beneficial as it decreases stress and allows the circulation of blood to flow unimpeded."
This relaxing session is used to relieve stress, migraine headache and sinus congestion. A scalp massage can help stimulate your nerves and blood vessels and calms muscle tension in your upper back, neck and scalp.
Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins. We use Myofascial and a Neuromuscular Therapy Approach to Chronic Pain: Head (Headaches and Migranes), Neck and Shoulder Pain.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands. In addition, heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
